A Sad Day for the Joshua Eaton Community

Joshua Eaton-Jody Carregal

It is with great sadness that we share with you that Joshua Eaton Teacher Jody Carregal passed away this morning after her long courageous struggle with cancer.

Jody was a caring and compassionate teacher who touched the lives of hundreds of students during her 11 year Reading Public School teaching career.  She was strong teacher leader in the district serving in several roles, including as an Elementary Assistant Principal, School Council Member, and a member of the TAP Committee.  In addition, Jody received two teacher tribute awards from the Reading Education Foundation for her outstanding work with students.  Her positive attitude, compassion towards her students, and dedication to her profession will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.  Her commitment to the students and love for learning has touched us all.

We will update you regarding funeral arrangements as more information becomes available.

Please keep the Carregal Family and the Joshua Eaton Community in your thoughts and prayers during this time of sadness.  May she rest in peace.

  1. Absolutely heartbroken…thoughts and prayers to her family…my daughter Brenna was blessed to have Jody as her 1st grade teacher at Birch Meadow 8 years ago. She was by far the most kind hearted and caring teacher I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She allowed me to volunteer in the classroom as often as I wanted to. That time spent with my daughter is something I will cherish forever. Rest in peace Jody and thank you for giving my daughter the best first year of school of her life. We will never forget you!

  3. She was awesome. I remember her and how great it was that she enjoyed having Shannon as her teachers assistant. Shannon spent nearly everyday of Brenna’s first grade with Jody being involved with every aspect of the class. I wish her family strength at this hard time. She will be very, very missed by many.
